Who We Are
Social Awareness and Vocational Education for Rural Area (SAVERA) is a grassroots non-governmental organisation committed to strengthening the rights, opportunities, and well-being of disadvantaged communities.
Established in 1996, SAVERA began with a small group of committed social workers concerned about the conditions of children, women, and socially and economically marginalized communities. Over the years, its work has expanded across education, child protection, migration, women’s empowerment, livelihoods, health awareness, social inclusion, and community development.
Our approach is based on the belief that poverty cannot be addressed in isolation. Lack of education, unsafe work, migration, discrimination, gender inequality, weak access to public services, and limited livelihood opportunities are interconnected. SAVERA therefore works with individuals, families, communities, and institutions to address these challenges together.

To contribute to the creation of an equitable society in which marginalized communities can realise their rights, develop their capacities, and participate fully in social and economic life.
Our Journey
SAVERA’s roots lie in rural community development and education. The organisation has worked with development partners including Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, COCORD, CWS Hyderabad, and BRC Patna, among others.
Today, SAVERA continues this journey by responding to emerging community challenges—from the protection and education of children to safe migration, workers’ rights, local livelihoods, and responsible MSME development.
